Hello world...you big old ball of crazy old people. It's been almost a month since I last updated...happy St. Paddy's day! If I weren't stuck in rehearsal I'd be out causing drunken damage on the streets with a bat and mace. Not the pepper spray. I mean a full blown ball-and-chain style mace. Which I'd use to smash windows and explode pedestrians. Truly it would be a sight to behold.

So without further ado...

THE WORLD AS I SEE IT - "B" EDITION

Bahamas - Warm.

Bahrain - In Spain stays mainly on the plain.

Bangladesh - A very mediocre song by the least loved Beatle.

Bolivia - Did it export Shakira? I thought not.

Belarus - I think it's French for beautiful Russia, which is a definite stretch.

Belgium - Waffles and Chocolate...who wouldn't want to invade it?

Benin - Crap.

Bhutan - Dragon on the flag. National pastime is total badassery.

Belize - Crappier.

Bosnia & Herzegovina - Why comment? It'll be four separate countries by Thursday.

Botswana - Crappiest. With lions.

Brazil - Chief export is extremely sexy people *wink*

Brunei - Ruled by a Sultan.

If you didn't see yet, there's a devMeet on February 7. :D
That's a Saturday, but it shouldn't conflict with the CRWRCU meeting.

To elaborate on what i-man10000 is referring to. At Orchard Park there is a bunch of artwork set out near the big apple, I work for the art people (Apple Artwork). There was a sketched card on the top of "A Breath of Early Morning" (the one with the white horse, this one [link] ) The card said "This is a friendly message from the Vigilantes" and the da address.

I was like lol Deviantart

Yes! I'm glad someone replied! Seriously, this has made my day (along with two other omgawsome things).

That was part of the project Vigilantes at the Mall (some details in our journal). There were maybe 8 more similar interventions throughout the mall. It was fun putting them in ^_^

I'm going to present the project tomorrow, and the event is free for all. If you can/want, come to UBC-O room SSC 026 on Wednesday at 6pm. =D

I work 2-9 every weekday so I can't come.

So that what you were doing. There was a girl and a guy sitting nearby on the floor playing music loud enough so I could hear it. Which was okay by me cause it covered up the mall music. Part of the day I could hear the mall's christmas music and the music from a couple different stores. So I was like "This techno beat totally does not go with this christmas carol, oh wait it's two completely different songs"

Haha, that was me and ~GimpyKitty, who was doing her own project for the same assignment. She was helping me out by taking pictures while I hid the poems, drawings, etc.

lawl. I want to add to this conversation.
I'm glad you enjoyed the random music. For it was myself and the Vigilante you are speaking to that was blasting that there music. That was part of my own project, seperate from the Vigilante's.

It's unfortunate that you cannot come to the presentations. There is going to be a mini installation, porn, cupcakes, music, and a lot more. :]

So, I heard you left a nice card at the art gallery where `iggygirl works...
we're surprised there's more Kelowna dA peeps that we didn't know about.
I help run the Kelowna deviant artists group here at ~Kelowna-Artists-DEVs ... drop by and watch for any news.

We haven't been able to organize a devmeet since the last one due to our busy busy schedules and massive workload in the evenings (most call it laziness) but we still hang out every once in a while... I'm on MSN and can hook you up with other peeps from the club =)

Awesome! I'll make sure to check the group, and let the other Vigilantes about it.

The card thing was part of an intervention project called Vigilantes at the Mall. I'm going to be presenting it tomorrow at 6pm in UBC-O room SSC 026. (There will be a bunch of other people presenting, too.)

Just curious what exactly this intervention project is about, before I decide on attending... could you fill me in briefly?
Reply
:iconthevigilantes:
My interventions didn't have a unifying theme except that they all fit in the mall. I made commentaries on music, food, art, money, games, beauty and literature, and implanted them (some obvious, some hidden).
But several other people will be presenting their projects, too, and each one is doing something entirely different.
